This year, 2009, is the 'Homecoming year' when ex-pat Scots are encouraged to return to their roots. If you are planning to come to Galloway and check out your ancestral roots in this area, then our small hotel could make a good base from which to explore the area.
The Marine House Hotel is well situated to explore the beautiful Rhins of Galloway and the surrounding region. Not for nothing is Galloway known as 'Scotland In Miniature'! We have our own glens, lochs, beautiful coastline, intriguing forest trails, golfing galore, pony trekking, mountain biking, sea angling and more!
Located in Agnew Crescent, close to the loch-side, the Marine House Hotel is across the road from the popular Agnew Park, close to the Ferry Docks at Port Rodie (Stena: Belfast - Stranraer) & Cairnryan (P & O: Larne - Cairnryan), and the harbour-side railway station with links to Girvan, Ayr and Glasgow/Edinburgh. There is ample, free, long stay car parking available directly across the road from the Marine House Hotel. We offer a full bed and breakfast service, and we serve bar meals every lunch time between 1200 - 1345. Evening meals are served in our new restaurant nightly. All rooms are comfortable, well furnished and warm. Some rooms have views over Loch Ryan and Agnew Park. Jim & Fiona will be happy to assist you with local information should you need to find golf courses, ATMs and suchlike.
