Fiona & Jim Wood welcome you to the Marine House Hotel, & Restaurant, Stranraer. If you are planning a birthday party, wedding, social gathering or event, then come and view our new restaurant with views over Loch Ryan. The restaurant can accommodate around forty people and has its own licensed bar.
The Marine House Restaurant is open every evening and we offer Bar Meals at lunchtime in our downstairs Lounge Bar. Please contact Jim or Fiona for details and to book your party.
Our Chefs, John Pickering and Andrew McClelland, uses only fresh produce, much of it local. Here's a sample from our Sunday Special Menu, 2 or 3 courses, which is available every Sunday throughout the year - although Christmas opening may vary due to the day Christmas falls on.
Starter: Chefs Soup of the Day, Breaded Mushrooms, Fresh Sliced Melon. Main Course: Roast of the Day, Steak Pie, Beef Lasagne, Breaded Haddock, Pasta of the Day. All main courses are served with chips or pootatoes, vegetables or salad. There is a choice of Dessert or Sweet of the Day, and you are welcome to order drinks from our bar alongside tea or coffees.
Our Evening Menu: Choose from: Starters: Chefs Soup of the Day, Marine Prawn Glory, Haggis Tower, Chicken Liver Pate, Hot Garlic Mushrooms, Melon & Sorbet, Homemade Fish Cakes.
Main Courses: Carribean Chicken, Garlic & Prawn Chicken, 'Up Your Kilt' Chicken, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Sweet Chilli Chicken, Chicken Curry, Marine Steak & Ale Pie, Gammon Steak, Chef's Homemade Lasagne, Scotch Lamb Chops, Port & Black Pudding Tower, Fillet of Beef Stroganoff.
Fish Dishes: Breaded Whole Tail Scampi, Salmon & Haddock, Seafood Pancake, Battered Haddock - all fish dishes served with chips or potatoes and seasonal vegetables.
Vegetarian Dishes: Chili Stir Fried Vegetables, Macaroni Cheese, Mushroom A La Pasta - other vegetarian dishes are available, please ask!
From The Grill: 8oz Sirloin Steak, 80z Fillet Steak - both cooked your way with Onion Rings, Mushrooms, Grilled Tomato, Chips. Sauces: Moutarde French, Red Wine, Mushrooms And Cream, Cracked Black Pepper with Garlic, Whiskey and Mushroom.
Salads: Cold Ham, Peaches & Cream Cheese, Prawn Marie Rose, Cheese & Pineapple, Chicken - all served with seasonal salad and chips.
