The Marine House Hotel is well situated for the golfer, with Stranraer Golf Course being just a short drive down the road. There are two courses at nearby Portpatrick, and another course at Glenluce. Locally, the sea angling is good, with both pier, rock, shore and boat angling all available. For the photographer or artist, the light here is very clear, and the vistas can be stunning. There are also a number of gardens open to the public, and our local museum has much of interest in its exhibits and displays.
